Welcome to my 2nd full coverage colour blackwork pattern. The Starry Night is an oil-on-canvas painting by the Dutch Post-Impressionist painter Vincent van Gogh painted in June 1889. It depicts the view from the east-facing window of his asylum room at Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, just before sunrise, with the addition of an imaginary village.

This member area will grant access to all pattern pieces as they are released. They will also be emailed out on Fridays. However if you have email issues or prefer to access from downloads, you will be able to access all content here.

Fabric Count
This pattern has been designed for white 14 count. It will be harder to stitch on higher counts (the pattern of the blackwork will disappear and look more like a cross stitch piece). If you reduce the count you will need to make allowance for more floss usage! The fabric needs to be a very light colour, I have designed it for white, a very light cream or ivory may also work if you have no access to white.

Floss Colours
The following are the DMC numbers for the floss:

310, 312, 368, 372, 470, 647, 964, 797, 799, 823, 829, 766, 831, 890, 898, 913, 926, 930, 3023, 3750, 3790, 3799, 3838, 3852, 3861 & 3864

The patterns will be emailed out around midnight on the Thursday before. I am in the UK so, depending on your location) the pattern should be with you for the Friday. Emails will come from stitchalong@urbanstitches.co.uk I have found that some email providers mark the emails as spam/marketing. To ensure that you receive the emails please add the email address to your contacts/whitelist. The patterns will be available for you via this website also, so if you miss any patterns or join part way through you can still access all of the released pattern.

Strands
The SAL has been designed to use single and double strands, however if you prefer not using double strands the pattern will work, it will just have an overall lighter appearance.

Social Media
If you would like to post your stitching on social media, please tag me! I’d love to see it. The official tag for this SAL is #StarryNightSAL on Instagram. There is a Facebook group where there are lots of people happy to help, we stitch together and I show that my love language consists of obscure memes and weird dances. I promise to only share one of these things at the same time.

The Facebook group is not limited to just this SAL, come along and join us. I think you will especially enjoy CATHARTIC YELLING TUESDAYS! It's my favourite day of the week!
